Damion cooper, soccer coach
With over a decade of high-level playing and coaching experience, Damion Cooper brings a proven track record of performance, leadership, and player development to every training session.
A standout at Salina Central High School from 2009–2012, Damion earned four consecutive Varsity selections, served as a three-year Co-Captain, and collected numerous honors including All-League, All-Region, All-State, MVP, and Offensive Player of the Region. As Salina Central’s all-time leader in scoring and points, Damion also competed at the state, regional, and national levels with the Olympic Development Team, and was selected at age 18 to join the Richmond Professional Academy in Leeds, England.
Continuing at Fort Hays State University (2013–2016), Damion helped lead the team to four NCAA Tournament appearances, three Regional Championships, and three Elite Eight runs, serving as Co-Captain (2015, 2016) and earning MIAA All-Academic honors. Damion also has experience playing with the Professional Development League in Dallas, Texas.
Since 2017, Damion has coached at Lee’s Summit North High School, working with both Boys and Girls Varsity teams, and has provided specialized player development through his own DC4 Individual Training since 2018. Combining competitive insight with a passion for teaching, Damion focuses on building technical skill, tactical awareness, and mental resilience in athletes of all levels. Damion cares more about the character of the athlete than the product. With Damion’s intentionality of servitude, love and passion; the results are the byproduct of providing athletes authentic life experiences of character development and faith driven principles!
Damion holds a B.S. in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Sports Management and a Leadership Certification.
